Video on Demand (VOD) is a great way of viewing films and television programs. It eliminates the need to go to a video store to buy films and provides access to a wide collection of material. With VOD, the technology has become so sophisticated that you can stop, pause, rewind, or fast-forward a film you have chosen. Additionally, you may bookmark a movie and come back to it for up to 24 hours.

Movie

  • Order more than one selection and flip from one rental to another with the press of a button.
  • Prevent unauthorized purchases with parental control features and purchase codes.

1. Do I have to pay for this service if I am in the Tamarack Rental Pool?
No. We are providing this service to all Tamarack Rental Pool customers at no cost. If you leave the rental pool you will have the option to keep the service for a monthly fee or have it removed. Since the service is provided by Tamarack Video & Telecom all support and maintenance will be provided by TVT at no cost to you while you are in the Tamarack rental program.
2. Am I required to have the service if I am in the Tamarack rental pool?
Yes. This is a service that renters expect.
3. Does the use of this system require any special equipment?
The set top box that we use has been "certified" for certain TVs so it does require that your TV be one of our certified TVs or that we get your TV certified.
4. If my TV isn't on the list of certified TVs what do I have to do?
We will try to certify it ourselves at no cost to you but we can't guarantee that we will be able to make all the remote control buttons/features work reliably. We will do our best to make the remote control easy to use and reliable but there may be technological limitations.
5. I understand TVT sells TVs that are certified. Do I have to buy a TV from TVT?
No. We will give you a list of certified TVs with manufacturer name and model numbers that you can use to shop for a TV. The TVs that we recommend are primarily commercial grade and intended to be used in the hospitality environment. When you are comparing TVs be sure and compare the exact model number so you know you are getting all the features and component connectors that are on the TVs we recommend. Not all TVs are created equal when it comes to connecting our set top box.
6. How does this affect my current cable TV service?
Our initial roll out of the VOD system will be to 1 TV per unit. That TV will have the IPTV channels and the ability to rent movies. The other TVs in your unit will continue to have the same TV service they have now. If you want an additional Set Top Box on other TVs there will be a small monthly charge for each additional STB.
7. Is High Definition available?
If you sign up for the service today you will be getting a Standard Definition STB. HD will be available this Fall and at that time we will be replacing all SD STBs with the HD STB.
